How I detest this unreasonable superficiality.
How I detest this terrible mockery,
in the name of fashion and trends.
Oh how I detest everything,
that's so nice and beautiful,
Yet so pretentious and untrue.
Oh how I detest everything,
that's plain and dull,
like that ornate social rendezvous.
***
I stand here,
on the bandwagon of morality and truth
And I consider myself a hypocrite.
I want to be that busy man wearing suits.
That funny guy on stage,
cracking jokes about his brand new red boots.
I want to be free, from my anxiety,
just to talk to that girl near the bar counter,
Damn, she is so pretty.
I want to sing, a beautiful melody,
I want people to lose themselves away,
to the rhythms and tunes on my guitar.
Oh, I want all of that,
I want to be the Tzar,
Twinkling afar,
like the brightest glowing star.
***
But here I am,
with just my pen and my words,
In this rather indifferent world,
which only prefers the beauty over the beast.
The Satan over the priest.
I try and I try,
I fly and I fly.
I rise up so high,
Like Icarus, I drown after my flight,
in the darkest of nights,
devoid of all lights.
***
How I scream silently through my words,
the anguish & uneasiness flows away,
verse after verse, phrase after phrase.
For I detest you all,
your plastic fruits and your scentless flowers.
I detest you all,
you miserable actors and players.
Oh, how I detest you all,
because I ain't one of you.
I tried my best but
I can't be one of you.
I can never be one of you...
